Segment 5 of our GPS data for the ERT begins at our “Epic Camp” location within Carson National Forest (near Angel Fire, NM) and travels through the Valle Vidal before heading north to the Great Sand Dune National Park and Preserve.

Once you reach the GSDNP you can opt to camp in their campgrounds or travel up Medano Pass into the Preserve portion of the park for first-come-first-serve remote camp sites. If those sites are full, continue east into the San Isabel National Forest for more dispersed camping.
