Lifestyle Overland Ultimate Gift Guide

  • Streamlight Stylus Pro USB

Slender, bright, rechargeable, and ready when you need it. This is my EDC flashlight and with several years under its belt… it shows no signs of stopping.

  • Streamlight HL USB

This beast of a flashlight is my go-to when things go “bump” in the night. If you can’t fight ‘em you can at least blind ‘em with this thing! Rechargable too!

  • Kershaw Link

This is our favorite work knife by a long shot. Solid construction, holds an edge, and easy to open at a moment’s notice.

  • Kershaw Cryo

This was our primary work knife up until the switch to the Link, but this one is a bit more affordable and a lot less painful to lose. Just as strong and durable as the Link though!

  • Poly Wolf Lighter

Only a few of these beauties left AND they come with the rare white wolf patch! Includes the reliable Thunderbird butane flame assembly. (Not the dual burner like in the videos)

  • Zippo Dual Butane Upgrade

Take your Zippo compatable lighter to the next level with this dual burner butane insert. Great for starting fires or even sealing heat-shrink!

  • Trayvax Contour Wallet

A unique take on wallets! We made the switch about 3 years ago and it’s been a game changer to have a smaller profile for cards and cash. The bottle opener is a handy item to have as well!

  • Roka Titanium Aviators

You’ve seen me wear these since 2018 and we just keep coming back for more. My absolute favorite sunglasses ever since they’re lightweight, durable, and incredibly crisp.

  • Black Diamond Storm Headlamp

Our now discontinued model of this headlamp is still going strong. The link is for the updated version. Love the levels of brightness that are available at the touch of a button!

  • Petzl Tikkina

These very basic headlamps are just what the girls needed around camp. If you’re looking for an affordable option to make stumbling about camp a thing of the past; this is for you!

  • Stuan Tire Deflators

It probably goes without saying now but these little gems have been outstanding for YEARS. We still have our original set from 2014 and they’re still spot on. Be sure and watch the video in the link for tips on how to set them up!

  • Zoleo SOS/Text Device

We’ve recently begun testing of this device and so far it’s been a great experience. The app is a smooth operator and the tracking option means Sarah can keep track of me even if I can’t check-in. A must in any kit!

  • Garmin InReach Mini 2

This is another option for staying safe while staying in touch. We haven’t used the updated Mini 2 yet but we’ve heard great things about it. Just giving you options!

  • Garmin InReach Explorer

This one has been in our kit for a couple years now and performs well in all sorts of situations from overlanding to hiking. If you’re someone who prefers a stand-alone device and want to avoid the phone-to-device requirement; this is for you!

  • HotHands Hand Warmers

Ready to change the game with something that goes for about 60 cents a pair? You’ll be amazed at the warmth these little guys put out. Make your camping partners grin with delight!

  • HotHands Foot Warmers

Are you someone who struggles with cold, clammy feet? These foot warmers have made a huge difference for our whole family; especially when camping in the snow where the ground is sapping your feet of all warmth. Another total game changer.

  • LifeStraw Water Filter

Honestly there’s no reason to not have at least one of these in every kit. It’s small, lightweight, and could potentially save your life.

  • LifeStraw Mission Water Filter

We’ve put this system through it’s paces in the mountains of Colorado and it did a wonderful job of keeping our drinking water “on-tap” with every mountain stream.

  • Silicone Pop-Up Pour Over Funnel

We’ve not had the chance to test this but all indications point towards being a winner for lightweight and low profile pour over possibilities. A great stocking stuffer for the coffee nut!

  • MiiR "Flat Pack" Pour Over Funnel

This thing is just cool. If you love tactile, well-engineered gear then you’ll love this little work of art. Oh, and it helps you make coffee too. Almost forgot…

  • Manual Hand Crank Coffee Grinder

This one is no stranger to the channel. Since 2017 this inexpensive unit has been releasing the freshness from our beans morning after morning. (Pro-tip, you can use a drill to speed up the process! But don’t tell Sarah…)

  • Vacuum Insulated Coffee Mug

More than just a branding opportunity, THIS mug is legit and took a couple years of testing to finally land on. The vacuum chamber is also copper lined to ensure your bevarage stays piping hot (or freezing cold) for hours and hours.

  • BruTrek OVRLNDR French Press

After about 2 years of testing this french press has our seal of approval for keeping the grounds out of your brew and ensuring it stays hot! The removable bottom helps make cleanup a snap as well.

  • Jet Boil Flash System

One of our longest running products to date with about 11 years of service, the Jet Boil Flash system is simple and FAST when it comes to getting your water up to temp quickly. Lot’s of other creative add-on’s make this a meal prep station as well.

  • Shower Pouch

We never leave home without a few of these in the kit to make clean up a breeze in between “real” showers. These little beauties have saved the day when it’s been too nasty, or too late to set up a shower system. Just hop in the tent, wipe down, and drift off to sleep smelling like a daisy.

  • DJI Action 2 Camera

These little cameras have been perfect for getting those unique action shots. They’re also a compact camera to shoot and share all your adventures on!

  • Magnetic Base

Up your creativity with a STRONG magnet base to pair with the SmallRig arms.

  • SmallRig Short Arm with Clamp

  • SmallRig Long Arm with Clamp

  • Nat Geo Trails Illustrated Maps

Nothing beats a hard copy! And these maps provide a TON of detail for navigating or planning your next adventure.

  • DeLorme Atlas

If you have a state you frequently travel then this should always be in your rig for when technology fails you. Not to mention there’s usually something interesting to be found in these pages!

  • Shun 3 Piece Knife Set

They’re not just knives… they’re works of art. Sarah and I have nothing but good things to say about this knife set. We’ve tried several over the years (usually cheap, inferior sets) but when we finally bit the bullet we found that having “real” knives makes the cooking process so much more pleasurable.

  • Vacuum Insulated Water Bottle

We looked for a reliable water bottle for years before landing on this built by Basecamp. The vacuum insulated construction means I can keep my water chilled to the bone for days by packing it full of ice and replenshing the water multiple times.

  • Danner Mountain 600 Boots

A picture is worth a thousand words, a video; probably a million. You can see in our adventures the use and abuse we’ve put these through and they are still simply incredible.

  • No Loss Valve Caps

Who knew such a simple design would be so handy? If you’re tired of losing your valve caps, getting your valves all crusty, and watching your tire pressures go all over the place from a nasty connection… these are for you.

  • Stickers

Who doesn’t love a fresh pack of stickers for their favorite water bottle, laptop, fridge, or shiny surface?

  • Patches

Are you really an overlander if you don’t collect patches? Memorialize your adventures, represent your favorite creator, or simply collect the coolest designs to grow that headliner into a proverbal farm full of embroidery.
