It’s been a while since we posted an update on the renovation. Our pace and schedule hasn’t left much time for blogging, so here’s a bunch of progress pictures to bring you up to speed!
The tedious task of sanding and priming is finally complete and we’ve moved on to painting the cabinets and trim. Surprisingly, this task has been the toughest one so far in the build. We had hoped to speed up the process with a Wagner sprayer but it actually caused more problems with its splatter patterns. The Sherwin Williams Acrylic Latex ($66 a Gallon) has proven to be a challenge to make stick without running, even with the hand painting process. I’m hoping the final product is worth the effort since it’s supposed to be the best paint out there. But enough of my belly-aching… on to the pictures!
Sunday Home Depot run for materials.
Masking it up.
Time to start shooting some primer.
Started out with the Wagner.
It didn’t take long before this ended in a muddy mess!
Primer complete. (Sleep Number bed arrived too.)
Scratched the Wagner for the old Devilbiss.
Had to wash down with paint thinner after this mess. Got it all primed though.
Entry to bedroom.
Tried to use the push-on SharkBite connectors… they failed. So we bought the right tool for the job. No leaks!
Any excuse to buy a new tool. 😉
Got to test run the dishwasher. All systems go!
We hope to wrap up the painting this weekend and move on to flooring soon! Stay Tuned!
