WHO ARE WE?

We are a small family of overlanders traveling and exploring North America full-time. Our mission is to encourage and educate others who desire to venture away from civilization and experience a more adventurous side of life. Our hope is that we would inspire others to find their own passion in overlanding the great outdoors.

More About Us

WHAT IS OVERLANDING?

Overlanding is the wheeled pursuit of adventure.

Overlanding is what you make of it. It is an extension of who you are. It is not confined to definition. It is unfettered and free. It is pavement, gravel, dirt, mud, sand, and rock. It is mountain high and four-wheel low. It is blue skies and two-wheel drive. It is highways and it is byways. It is preparation and perspiration. It is challenge and challenge accepted. It is community. It is commradery. It is adventure.

For us, overlanding is a LIFESTYLE.

The Gear We Use – Tents and Awnings

We commonly receive messages requesting details on some of the gear we use so in answer to that we are going to compile a series of blog posts in hopes that it will help in developing your own camping / overland gear kit. Just so we’re honest, the other purpose of this article is to hopefully generate an bit of travel funds for our family by using the Amazon Affiliate links. The beauty of this is that you don’t pay a dime extra by using the links, but we earn a bit of “commission” when you click and buy from the links we share. It’s not much, but every little bit helps! We are also sharing gear that isn’t available on Amazon so if you call or email these vendors after reading this or watching our videos, please let them know we sent you! It helps create other opportunities for us with those particular vendors (like potential sponsorship) which would help keep us traveling and making videos. Just so you’re aware, we are currently NOT monetarily sponsored by ANY companies so the reviews we give are from a user perspective. One last note; all pricing is as of 7/3/18 and may change without notice! We just wanted to share a price here so you can have an idea of the actual cost. That being said… on to the gear! TENTS Roof Top Tent Brand: 23 Zero USA Model: Sydney MSRP: $2,599 Size: King Size+ We’ve ran several different tents over the past few years but this is the flagship and our current setup. The sleeping platform measures 87 x 96 inches (Standard king size mattress is 76 x 80 inches) and has a 3 inch high-density foam mattress, removable rain-fly, sky-view roof panels, and included annex room. Link: 23Zero Sydney Roof Top Tent Screened Pop-Up Room Brand: Gazelle Model: 25500 G5 Pop Up Portable 5 Sided Hub Gazebo Price: $164.25 Size: 7′ Tall, 8′ 9″ Wall-to-Wall With our travels taking us to the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Alaska we knew there would be lots and lots of BUGS to deal with. We wanted a way to escape the swarms and have a bit of peace with minimal setup effort. This pop-up room deploys in under 60 seconds and returns to packed state in about 2.5 – 3 minutes. It has already been a life-saver in Utah and Idaho. The quality on this unit is top-notch and we feel it will last the constant use and abuse we will put it through. […]

THE ENCHANTED ROCKIES TRAIL

The Enchanted Rockies Trail is a series of overland trails that begin in south-central New Mexico and end in north-central Colorado.

This self-designed route consists of nearly 800 miles of off-pavement travel and passes through multiple districts of 9 National Forests and 2 National Parks along the way.

We documented every aspect of this route during our adventure and now want to share it with the Overland Community!
